CEQA

NID has prepared a Draft CEQA Supplemental Analysis in an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) format for the Yuba-Bear Hydroelectric Project. The Draft CEQA Supplemental Analysis IS/MND was available for public review June 17- July 16, 2025.

As a result of public and agency comments on the Draft CEQA Supplemental Analysis IS/MND, NID is now preparing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Yuba-Bear Hydroelectric Project. The Notice of Preparation for the EIR is provided below and initiates the EIR process through which NID will refine the range of issues and Proposed Project alternatives to be analyzed in the EIR.

Written comments regarding the scope and content of the EIR are encouraged to be submitted during the review period from December 30, 2025 – January 28, 2026, to the contact listed below. For e-mailed comments, please include the project title in the subject line and include the commenter’s name and U.S. Postal Service mailing address.
