Van Giesen Dam and Combie Reservoir (elevation 1,610 feet)

Van Giesen Dam and Combie Reservoir are located instream on the Bear River.

Located near the city of Auburn, the dam stands 85 feet high and 762 feet in length.

The dam was constructed in 1928 and is a concrete arch with maximum reservoir capacity of 5,555 acre-feet. The typical low level is 3,000 acre-feet.

NID holds water rights to store 5,555 acre-feet.

The current required environmental flow to the Bear River is 5 cubic feet per second (CFS). The reservoir, Combie Reservoir, discharges to the Bear River and South Sutter Water District's Camp Far West Reservoir.

Recreation includes boating for locals. There is no public access.
