Then & Now -- delivering water to Chicago Park

A historical irrigation channel with two people working, surrounded by trees. Text: "NID Marks 104 Years of Service to Our Community."

The 1927 photo shows the Dressler Canal, which is part of the Chicago Park system. On the left, the gate below the outlet allows water flow into the Rattlesnake Canal (at bottom), as well as the Chicago Park Canal beyond the workers.

The photo taken this month shows that not much has changed since the early days.

A serene forest scene with a narrow stream flowing, surrounded by trees and a dirt path.
