Storms raise NID reservoirs to a nine-year high

(Jan. 5, 2023) The latest series of storms has brought ample amounts of snow and rain to the Nevada Irrigation District water system.

As of Jan. 4, the District’s reservoir storage is 117 percent of a nine-year average. The reservoirs are at 80 percent of capacity with storage of 215,473 acre-feet of water.  

Total precipitation at Bowman Lake is above average. As of January 4, NID has measured 38.21 inches of precipitation, which is 142 percent of average for this time of year.
