Through its Plan for Water, NID is evaluating how changing climate conditions could affect water supplies over the next 50 years.
Planning for Possibilities
Instead of asking, "What will happen?" NID asks a different question: "What happens if?"
What if future conditions are warmer and drier? What if storms become more intense? What if the future falls somewhere in between?
To help answer those questions, NID worked with climate scientists and water experts to evaluate 18 different climate scenarios. Those scenarios were narrowed into three representative futures for detailed planning.
