January 11, 2022: Stage 1

Time: 4 pm - time certain

Location: Zoom meeting

Scheduled: Stage 1 Water System Overview - Focus on lower delivery system

Outcome: NID wants to foster a common understanding of the District's water system, as well as to begin the narrative and mapping for a final Plan for Water document.

Presentation: Water Service Area Overview - this overview details NID’s Water Distribution System and Operations.

 

February 8, 2022: Stage 2

Time: 4 pm - time certain

Location: Zoom meeting

Scheduled: Stage 2 Water Rights Overview - this will include a review of water rights currently held by NID, including locations, year of seniority and current usage

Outcome: NID wants to foster a common understanding of the District's water rights, and continue to develop a community narrative around this topic.

 

March 8, 2022: Stage 2

Scheduled: Stage 2 Water Rights Overview - this will include a review of water rights currently held by NID, including locations, year of seniority and current usage

April 19, 2022: Stage 3

Scheduled: Stage 3 Watersheds --  this will include a review of watershed management, cultural awareness and sensitivity

Presentation from Tribal Members from the Lizzie Enos Nisenan Family Foundation and the United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC) Preservation Department

Outcome: NID wants to develop a common understanding and knowledge of NID source supply watersheds and management requirements. The workshop will inform about federal/state/local coordination and partnerships, as well as focus on cultural awareness.

 

May 10, 2022: Stage 3

Scheduled: Stage 3 Watersheds --  this will include a review of watershed management, cultural awareness and sensitivity

Scheduled Stage 4 Risk - this will include risk analysis and mitigation efforts presentation relating to three organizational considerations: (i) Operational; (ii) Regulatory; (iii) Environmental.

Outcome: Develop a common understanding of NID's controlled and uncontrolled risk factors and mitigation efforts as it relates to operational, regulatory and environmental considerations.

Stakeholder involvement: Develop awareness and understanding of NID's actions and activities in relation to ongoing risk factors and considerations

 

July 12, 2022: Stage 4

Scheduled: Stage 5 Strategic Planning

Outcome: This stage will focus on the development of NID’s updated Strategic Plan, developing new and/or revised Mission, Vision, Strategic Priorities and Goals of the District.  The Strategic Plan is intended to be a stand-alone document.

Stakeholder involvement: Provide input to Board on community values and concerns ensuring all stakeholder concerns, issues and interests are heard.  We intend to inform this update with NID’s existing Strategic Plan while leveraging previous update efforts.

 

August 23, 2022: Stage 5

Time: 2-6 pm - time certain

Location: Gold Miner’s Inn in GV + Zoom meeting

Scheduled: Stage 5 Strategic Planning

Outcome: This stage will focus on the development of NID’s updated Strategic Plan, developing new and/or revised Mission, Vision, Strategic Priorities and Goals of the District.  The Strategic Plan is intended to be a stand-alone document.

Scheduled: Stage 6 - Basis for Plan for Water

Outcome: In this stage we seek to develop consensus on a number of considerations including, the PFW planning horizon, frequency of PFW updates, how staff and the Board will utilize the PFW, and to define a clear set of assumptions to be utilized in the modeling of data. 

Stakeholder involvement: Throughout this stage, we anticipate stakeholders to provide input to the District on reasonable planning horizons, input regarding public process for plan updates, input on how the plan can be used in reference to other planning documents,  and input regarding consultant selection processes.

 

October 11, 2022: Stage 7

Time: 4 pm - time certain

Scheduled: Stage 7 – Hydrology and Hydrography (Est. 3 months)

Outcome: This stage will seek to determine design assumptions, principles and standards of data-driven modeling as it relates to the hydrology and hydrography of NID’s water systems while reconfirming previous efforts of FERC re-licensing models and determining appropriate climate and drought scenario analysis.

Stakeholder involvement: In this stage, stakeholders will provide input on the hydrology and hydrography model design assumptions, principles and standards.  Stakeholders will also provide input regarding the adequacy and accuracy of previous FERC modeling efforts as well as climate change and drought related scenario development..

Input will also be taken regarding vulnerability and risk process and evaluation. and identified critical supply needs.
