The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day. The holiday weekend typically kicks off the camping and outdoor recreation season, and we apologize that during the COVID-19 pandemic, we can’t welcome you to enjoy the full activities offered at our many recreation facilities.
Yet NID trails remain open, and the Bowman and Jackson Meadows areas are open, although access is subject to weather and road conditions in the higher elevation areas.
NID continues to coordinate with the Nevada County Health Department to determine when we can safely reopen the remainder of our boating facilities to create a safe environment that minimizes the risk of COVID-19 transmission. We hope to have appropriate measures in place to allow for the opening of the boat ramps at Scotts Flat and Rollins reservoirs soon.
We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation during this time. NID remains committed to serving you and our community as we have for nearly 100 years.
