NID response to D. Suarez comments Jan. 25, 2024 workshop
Hi Dianna,
Thank you for your comments on the plan for water.
There are a few reasons why it is not necessary to complete additional demand modeling:
The drought contingency plans stages are already included in the modelling and therefore the unmet demand scenarios already reflect the associated demand reductions.
The low demand scenario also includes an additional 20% demand reduction on top of the reductions associated with the drought contingency plan implementation.
We would not really gain any additional insight by modelling additional demand reduction. Because there is an annual average unmet demand, any additional demand reduction results in a one-to-one reduction in the unmet demand that is easily defined without modelling.
We do have a couple of additional ideas that we will discuss at the plan for water. Stay tuned for more discussion.
Let me know if you have any questions.
