GRASS VALLEY – Eleven Nevada Irrigation District employees were recognized Wednesday (June 9) in a semi-annual service award presentation hosted by the NID Board of Directors. Asst. Maintenance Supt. for Weed Control Bruce Early and Equipment Operator Lawrence Sorensen were recognized for 30 years of service to the district. Senior Water Distribution Operator Mark Woods received a 25-year award while 20-year awards went to Buyer Kathy Anderson, Hydro Utility Worker Dean Rutter, Operations Crew Supv. Ken Hart and Water Supt. Larry Markey. Fifteen-year recognitions were presented to Chief Water Plant Operator Steve Barney and Maintenance Crew Supv. Doug Andrews while 10-year awards were given to Mark Kangas and Will Barker, who are employed as senior water plant operators. Headquartered in Grass Valley, NID employs 175 and supplies nearly 24,000 drinking water and irrigation water customers in Nevada, Placer and Yuba counties
