Capacity Charge Study

The Capacity Charge is a one-time fee paid by developers and property owners who are connecting to the treated water supplies of the NID public water system.

This fee, sometimes referrred to as a “buy-in” to the system, allows NID to recover the costs of facilities and assets needed to to serve growth. It ensures that the costs of system expansion are not placed on existing customers.

Posted here is an September, 2007 report that explains the NID Capacity Charge program.
